Milwaukee, WI : Two extricated from car after rollover crash on I-43, south of 27th Street early Sunday morning, May 22, 2016

A man was arrested after crashing a car off of I-43 eastbound, south of 27th Street early Sunday morning.

The vehicle rolled into a ditch around 2 a.m., trapping the driver and his passenger. The driver tried to crawl into the backseat to avoid being identified as the operator of the car, officials from the Milwaukee County Sheriff's office said.

The driver's license had been revoked.

Fire officials pulled the pair from the car by cutting the windshield and roof.

Both were taken to the hospital. They told law enforcement that neither of them had been driving, but they didn't know the name of the driver they said fled the scene.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of his second DUI and was cited for driving with a revoked license.
