An elderly woman was seriously injured in a wreck that killed her boyfriend. Neighbors said the couple went out Wednesday night to get items from the store. When they returned, the car should have stopped and turned into the driveway on North Cedar Street. Instead, the SUV kept going and went into the woods behind the home. The driver was thrown from SUV and it landed on him. Neighbors who knew them came out and prayed for the couple as investigators were taking measurements at the scene. The names of the couple have not been released. A neighbor said the collision woke him. He came outside and heard the woman blowing the car horn. She suffered a fractured back. She told the man she was OK and asked him to check on the boyfriend. “I don't know if the good Lord told him it was his time to go or just a freak accident. I really don't know,” said neighbor Kenneth Rinck. The woman was airlifted to a hospital. Police are trying to determine what caused the crash and are asking for help from the Highway Patrol.
