Albany, NY : Drivers die in double-fatal New York crash on Thursday, 1st September 2016

Two drivers are dead after a head-on crash in Canton.New York State Police said the crash happened at State Route 68 and County Route 14 just after noon Thursday.

Investigators said Antoine St. Pierre, 82, of Tupper Lake, was driving his 2015 Honda Fit west on State Route 68 when he tried to pass another car of the left.

That driver, who was not involved in the crash, was stopped and waiting to make a left turn onto County Route 14.

St. Pierre hit a 2011 Honda Fit head-on.

The car he struck was driven by Michael Linderman, 60, of Ogdensburg.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured in the crash.
