Liberal, KS : Garden City women’s team in bus crash in Seward County on Wednesday afternoon, January 21, 2015

Garden City Community College's women's basketball team and coaching staff were involved in a motor vehicle accident late Wednesday afternoon en route to Liberal for their game against Seward County.
There were no major injuries to the 19 players and staff on the bus, according to coach Nick Salazar. The two-vehicle accident occurred approximately 20 miles north of Liberal when the GCCC bus and an oversized tanker collided, according to Salazar.
"There were some cuts and and bruises," Salazar said. "But mostly a lot of anxious players."
The Kansas Jayhawk Conference game against Seward County was rescheduled for 6 p.m. on Feb. 2 in Liberal. The Busters will return to action at 2 p.m. Sunday with a home game against Dodge City at the Perryman Athletic Complex.
