Jacksonville, FL : 2 kids, 1 adult injured in school bus crash on Blanding Boulevard at Merrimac Avenue on Thursday, December 4, 2014
2 kids and 1 adult were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after a crash involving a school bus on Blanding Boulevard at Merrimac Avenue on the Westside on Thursday afternoon.
The crash happened around 4:20 p.m. Thursday.
Thirty-three Lakeshore Middle School students were on board the at the time of the crash, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The bus was traveling northbound on Blanding Boulevard while a 2007 Ford Fusion was traveling southbound.
The Ford driver began to make a left turn and the Ford struck the left front of the school bus, causing the bus to strike the curb on its right side, according to FHP.
The driver of the Ford had injuries to his face and stomach, while one child was transported for pain to her left side and another student was transported for pain in her left knee.
According to FHP, the driver of the Ford was cited for not wearing his seatbelt and careless driving.
