Vermilion Parish, LA : Motorcyclist dies in crash on Guillot Road in Vermilion Parish early Wednesday, May 4, 2016

Vermilion Parish authorities are investigating the death of motorcyclist who crashed on Guillot Road early Wednesday just south of the Vermilion Parish-Lafayette Parish line.

The motorcyclist, 48-year-old Joseph Tenorio of Erath, was riding south on Guillot Road around 7 a.m. when he ran off the road in a curve and hit a highway sign, according to a news release from the Vermilion Parish Sheriff’s Office.

Tenorio, who was wearing a helmet, was found in a nearby field and pronounced dead, the release states.

Toxicology and blood sample were sent to the State Police Crime Lab in a case that remains under investigation.
