Carson City, NV : Motorcyclist dies in 4-vehicle crash in southeast Las Vegas on Tuesday, March 21st 2017
A 36-year-old motorcyclist was killed in a four-vehicle crash Tuesday evening.
The crash between a motorcycle, two cars and a tow truck happened just after 5 p.m. near the intersection of Eucalyptus Avenue and East Flamingo Road, near South Eastern Avenue.
The 36-year-old man was riding a 2011 Honda motorcycle east on Flamingo “at a high rate of speed” in a bus lane, a Metropolitan Police Department release said. The motorcycle hit a 2014 Honda CR-V as it was exiting a private roadway at 2675 E. Flamingo Road. Metro said the impact carried both vehicles into the center median. The motorcycle then flipped over the median and hit a 2007 Dodge Avenger heading west on Flamingo. Debris from the second crash hit a tow truck also heading west on Flamingo.
The motorcycle rider and the CR-V’s 62-year-old woman driver were transported to Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, the release said. The rider died at the hospital.
Metro initially said the CR-V driver had critical injuries, but the Metro release later described her injuries as “moderate.”
Neither the Avenger or tow truck drivers were injured.
