Enid, OK : Morrison man hospitalized with injuries from accident near Douglas on Friday afternoon, February 17, 2017
One person was hospitalized with injuries suffered in a two-vehicle accident Friday afternoon near Douglas.
Lawrence E. Zimmer, 45, of Morrison, was admitted to St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in stable condition with head, arm, leg and trunk injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.
The accident happened at 1:08 p.m. on Flynn Road 3 miles east of Douglas.
According the report, Zimmer was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Cavalier west on Flynn when he went left of center and hit a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by Lanita I. Southwick, 40, of Douglas. Zimmer's car spon one-half time and came to rest in a ditch, while Southwick's pickup came to rest in the intersection of Flynn and 186th.
Southwick was taken by private vehicle to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, where she was treated for a head injury and released.
The report lists Zimmer's condition as "odor of alcohol" and the cause of the collision as "inattention." Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
