Posen, HI : $150K bond for driver in crash that sent flaming car off Interstate 57 onto Metra tracks on Friday, 28th February, 2020

A Dekalb man out for drinks to celebrate his 25th birthday crashed his speeding car into another motorist, sending her flaming car over a concrete median on Interstate 57 and down onto Metra rail tracks, prosecutors said Sunday during the man’s bail hearing.
Tevin Washington is facing reckless homicide and aggravated DUI causing death or great bodily harm charges for the Friday morning crash near 138th Street in Posen that killed Stephanie Anselmo, 39.
Authorities said Washington was driving about 85 mph in a 2016 Dodge Challenger on southbound I-57 in the left lane just after 2 a.m. The posted speed limit was 55.
As Washington changed to the center lane behind Anselmo’s braking 1999 Silver Jeep SUV, his vehicle crashed into the rear of the Jeep, causing it to burst into flames and go over the concrete barrier, prosecutors said.
Metra surveillance captured the airborne vehicle plunging down onto railroad tracks and burning, authorities said. Anselmo was pronounced dead at the scene.
