Buffalo, NY : Hunter dies in Livingston County accident on Saturday, November 19, 2016

A hunter was killed in West Sparta Saturday on the opening day of deer season, according to the Livingston County Sheriff's Office, which provided few details.

The victim, a man in his 80s, apparently fell from a tree stand, Sheriff Thomas Dougherty told the Genesee Sun. A dispatcher told The Buffalo News that the Sheriff's Office wants to investigate further before releasing more information.
