INDIANAPOLIS, IN : A fatal east side crash on Thursday, November, 30th 2017

Authorities are responding to a fatal east side crash.

The crash happened in the area of East 25th and North Mitthoefer Road just after 6:30 a.m.

According to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, the vehicle was driving down East 25th Street at a high rate of speed when it left the roadway.

The vehicle then struck a fire hydrant and a tree, knocking it over.

The male driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition, while the female passenger was killed in the crash.
