Providence, RI : 3 adults, 2 juveniles injured in 3-vehicle crash on Tuesday, 30th August, 2016
Five people were injured, including two juveniles, in a three-vehicle crash in Portsmouth.
A preliminary police investigation shows that an SUV being driven by 54-year-old Portsmouth resident Billey Dodd was traveling north on West Main Road around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when it crossed into the southbound lane, colliding with two other vehicles.
Police say Dodd's SUV struck a pickup truck being operated by 33-year-old Portsmouth resident Jonathan Barretto before hitting a car being operated by 45-year-old Bryan Babcock, of Middletown.
A 16-year-old boy and a 13-year-old boy inside Babcock's vehicle were taken to Hasbro Children's Hospital. The 16-year-old's injuries were serious.
Babcock was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries. Dodd and Barretto were also taken to area hospitals. Their conditions weren't immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
