YORK, NE : City man, 19, killed in York County crash on Wednesday, 7th March 2018
The York County Sheriff’s Office reported a Columbus man and an Osceola man were killed in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection of county roads in rural York County on Wednesday.
Jacob Barnett, 17, of Osceola, and Dylan Quast, 19, of Columbus were fatally injured when the northbound 1998 Ford Taurus they were in failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Road N and Road 12, the sheriff’s office reported.
The Barnett and Quast vehicle and was struck broadside by a 2013 Dodge Ram pickup driven by 18-year-old Braxton Nunnenkamp of York traveling eastbound. The sheriff’s office did not identify which of the men was driving the car.
Nunnenkamp was transported to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Funeral services for Quast will be held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Gass Haney Funeral Home with Pastor Brandon Foster officiating.
Visitation will be on Monday from 5-7 p.m. and continue on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until service time, all at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
