Fort Dodge, IA : No one was seriously injured after a three-car accident on May, Saturday, 20th 2017

No one was seriously injured after a three-car accident at about 10:40 a.m. Friday, said Fort Dodge Police Lt. Joe Bates.

Bates said a Toyota Camry driven by Sigourney Hubanks was coming north on 15th Street as she was trying to turn left onto Central Avenue. Because of a car in the inside lan,e she didn’t see a Pontiac Grand Prix, driven by Acacia Reimers, of Humboldt, coming south on 15th Street. The Pontiac hit the Toyota and spun it into the Dodge Caliber driven by Ryan Crowl, which was stopped on Central Avenue.

An 18-month-old and mother in the Toyota were both transported to the hospital by ambulance. Bates said the injuries appeared to be minor.

Fire Chief Kent Hulett said he was in the fire station, located just next to that intersection, when he heard a loud bang.

“We took the injuries into the station, before the ambulance got here,” Hulett said.

This was a bigger accident, but smaller ones are pretty common at the intersection, he said.
