Clearwater, FL : Man dead after rear-ending school bus crash on Thursday morning, December 17, 2015

Authorities say a man died after rear-ending a Tampa Bay area school bus.

Clearwater police report in a news release that the crash occurred Thursday morning. Officials say one bus stopped to pick up students, a second bus stopped behind the first and then the man driving a Mini Cooper ran into the back of the second bus.

The release says the man was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died. His name wasn't immediately released.

No students were on the bus at the time of the crash, and no injuries were reported to the bus driver.
