Pewaukee, WI : Two drivers injured in Two-car crash in Pewaukee Saturday morning on September 6, 2014
A two-car crash in Pewaukee Saturday morning ignited both vehicles, injuring the two drivers and requiring them to be taken to the hospital.
The accident occurred on Redford Boulevard at Busse Road shortly before 10 a.m., according to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department.
A 65-year-old West Bend man was driving southbound on Redford Boulevard approaching a controlled intersection when he ran into a vehicle going northbound on Redford driven by a 17-year-old Waukesha boy.
The teenager had been preparing to turn left to head west on Busse Road when the accident occurred.
Emergency staff from the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department and the City of Pewaukee Fire Department responded to the accident. Also, numerous citizens that were in the immediate area of the scene stopped to help.
The West Bend man was transported by ambulance to Froedtert Hospital to be treated for his injuries. The Waukesha teen was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital to be treated for his injuries.
Emergency personnel arrived to find that numerous citizens had used a fire extinguisher to extinguish the flames and were in the process of removing one of the men from his vehicle.
This incident remains under investigation.
