Investigators say a 1-year-old boy at a family birthday party has been struck and killed by a car in an Asheville neighborhood.
Police said Lucious Bernard Sullivan III was playing with a riding toy in the road when he was hit around 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Family members say the man who struck the boy didn't realize he hit anything and they had to chase him down to get him to stop.
Asheville police Sgt. Dave Romick says officers are investigating the incident and no charges have been filed. He did not release the name of the driver.
