South Bend, IN : Man dies in crash on Ironwood Drive on Friday night, February 24, 2017

One mad died in a Friday night crash on Ironwood Drive.

At about 11 p.m., St. Joseph County police were called to the 54300 block of Ironwood Drive, where they found a white 2000 Chevy Lumina had struck a tree.

The driver, 48-year-old Mark Riggs of South Bend, was pronounced dead at the scene. A front seat passenger, 50-year-old Kevin Hoover, was taken to Memorial Hospital and was last reported in stable condition, according to police.

The Lumina was traveling at a high speed, according to police. There were two other cars in the area when the accident occurred, and those drivers have been interviewed.
