Clear Lake, CA : One hurt in rollover crash on I-55 on Tuesday, 10th September 2019

One person was injured in a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 55 southbound near the Clear Lake Avenue exit shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday.

The driver of a Ford pickup truck ended up in a grassy area off the right shoulder of the interstate. The person was transported to HSHS St. John’s Hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening injuries, according to Illinois State Police District 9 spokesman, Trooper Shawn Ramsey.

The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

An off-duty orthopedics nurse from Memorial Medical Center, Tammy Lynn Bolyard, said she saw the crash in her rearview mirror and went to the scene, assisting the driver before SFD personnel showed up.

The truck was towed from the scene, Ramsey said.

The interstate was not shut down.
