Motorcyclist dies in West Michigan Avenue crash

A Battle Creek motorcyclist died Tuesday after a two-vehicle accident.Battle Creek police said Jason Burdette, 33, of Battle Creek, died at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo after the accident at 2:17 p.m.Officers said today that Burdette was westbound on Michigan Avenue when a car pulled from Sigel Street. The motorcycle struck the rear driver's side of the car. Officers said the car was southbound and attempted to pull into the eastbound lanes of Michigan Avenue and driven by Sharlene Lister, 70, of Battle Creek. She was not injured.Officers said the speed of the motorcycle may have been a factor in the crash.The accident remains under investigation.
