Vancouver, WA : Six hurt in multi-car crash on Interstate Bridge on Sunday, 8th April 2018
Six people were hurt, but only one was hospitalized, after a minor crash over the Interstate 5 Bridge on Saturday afternoon turned into a multivehicle chain-reaction collision.
According to the Washington State Patrol, one vehicle had stopped in the left lane following an earlier minor crash. Around noon Saturday, Sedro Wolley’s Candy Kennedy, 62, didn’t stop in time then struck another car, which was slowing down for the earlier crash.
The collision bumped the second car into a third, then the third into the fourth, which had stopped after the small crash earlier.
Washington State Patrol said six people, not including Kennedy, were hurt. Only one motorist — 72-year-old Bodhmati Oliver of Tacoma who was a passenger in one of crashed vehicles — was hospitalized.
Washington State Patrol said Kennedy’s inattention led to the crash, and she was cited for following vehicles ahead too closely.
