Ashland, KY : Motorcyclist dies in Rowan accident on Friday September 2 2016

A Morehead man died after being hit by another vehicle while standing beside his motorcycle Friday afternoon on Interstate 64 east in Rowan County.

Jerry Thatcher, 60, died on the Exit 133 ramp, according to Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt, according to a Kentucky State Police release.

Thatcher suffered multiple injuries and was dead at the scene, Northcutt said. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

One person in the vehicle was taken to University of Kentucky Chandler Hospital, and another was taken to a local hospital, state police said.
