Gilmer ,TX : wreck victim stable after collision on Monday ,July 13th 2015

Gilmer police say a motorcycle driver involved in a wreck Monday is in stable condition.

The department says that officers were called about 10:30 a.m. Monday to a wreck at Highway 271 and Highway 155 south.

Police, Fire and EMS responded to the scene. Officials believe a Ford Explorer Fail to yield the right of way while crossing Highway 271 on Quail Street, causing the driver of a Harley Davidson Motorcycle to lock his brakes and collide with the Explorer.

GPD says the driver of the motorcycle was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview. It was later determined the driver was transported to East Texas Medical Center in Tyler. The department says the driver was listed in stable condition.

A citation was issued to the driver of the Explorer for Failing to Yield the Right of Way.
