Columbus, OH : Motorcyclist seriously injured in Green Twp. crash on Wednesday, 2nd November 2016
A motorcyclist was seriously injured when he struck the back of a car in Green Township on Wednesday.
Green Township police said Carl T. Lacey, 54, of Cincinnati, was driving a 1996 Harley Davidson motorcycle in "a reckless manner" in the 5100 block of Rybolt Road before the 7:52 p.m. crash.
Lacey was driving northbound on Rybolt and crossed the center dividing lines into the soutbound lane and began passing northbound traffic, police said. As Lacey crested a small hill, he approached oncoming traffic and abruptly changed lanes back into the northbound lane, police said. Lacey hit the rear of BMW 328i driven by Tracy D. Delmar, 47, of Cincinnati. The motorcycle went down and slid across the road.
Lacey was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he was listed in serious condition. Delmar was uninjured in the crash.
Alcohol, drugs and speed on the part of Lacey are all believed to have contributed to the crash, police said. The incident remains under investigation by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Traffic Safety Unit / Green Township Police Investigative Unit.
