Portland, OR : Molalla man dies in Washington County cement truck crash on Thursday morning, July 21, 2016
A 51-year-old Molalla man died Thursday morning in a cement truck crash in Washington County.
David Gilbreath was driving the truck down a steep hill in the unincorporated community of Laurelwood when the truck's brakes likely went out, deputies said, citing an initial investigation.
The loaded truck went sideways, flipped onto its side and went off the road and down a 20-foot embankment, the Washington County Sheriff's Office said in a news release.
The truck ended up upside down, deputies said. There's no indication Gilbreath, who was driving for Molalla Redi Mix, was under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Gilbreath died at the scene. He was alone in the truck.
Deputies responded to the crash scene, in the 38000 block of Southwest Laurelwood Road, around 8:15 a.m.
