ROCKFORD, IL : Motorcycle passenger injured in Rockford crash on Tuesday, 13th August 2019
A female passenger riding on the back of a motorcycle was seriously injured when the motorcycle was struck by a car Tuesday afternoon on Broadway near Log Cabin Avenue, according to police.
The crash occurred about 12:45 p.m.
Police at the scene said the motorcycle was traveling east on Broadway when a northbound car turning left from Log Cabin to go west on Broadway failed to yield at the stop sign and struck the motorcyclists.
The passenger on the motorcycle, a 46-year-old woman, is being treated at a Rockford hospital for serious injuries.
The driver of the motorcycle, a 45-year-old man, also was injured, but his injuries were not life-threatening, police said. Neither of the motorcyclists were wearing helmets.
The driver of the car remained on scene and was not injured.
