Longview,TX : One killed in Interstate 20 crash Sunday in Callahan County on January, Sunday 21st 2018

A Fresno, California man was killed Sunday night when he lost control of his motorcycle on Interstate 20 east of Baird, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

John Gray Archa, 47, was traveling east on Interstate 20 when he attempted to switch lanes in a construction zone four-and-a-half miles east of Baird at 10:07 p.m. Sunday.

According to a preliminary crash report, Archa attempted to switch lanes but struck a gap between the lanes and lost control of his motorcycle. The vehicle slid into the median, striking two of the cable posts.

He was pronounced dead at Hendrick Medical Center, DPS said in a news release.

The crash is still under investigation, DPS said.
