Tangipahoa Parish, LA : Two people died in fiery crash on Louisiana 10 near Arcola on Sunday, Sep 13, 2015

Two men were killed Sunday (Sept. 13) when their car flipped and burst into flames on Louisiana 10 in Tangipahoa Parish, according to the Louisiana State Police. The accident occurred near Arcola around 9:30 p.m.

Reginald Williams Jr., 30, of Fluker, was driving eastbound in a Dodge Challenger with Quentin Pitts of Hammond in the passenger seat, state police said. As he entered a left hand curve, his car left the right side of the highway and hit a culvert, state police said.

That flipped the car, which then caromed into a fence post and a tree and burst into flames, state police said. The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's Office pronounced Williams and Pitts, 30, dead at the scene, according to State Police Troop L.

The crash remains under investigation, but troopers do not believe speed was a factor, state police said. Given the nature of the accident and the ensuing fire, investigators don't know if the two men were wearing seatbelts, state police said. Blood samples were obtained and are undergoing analysis at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab.
