A Vinemont teenager was killed Saturday night and another injured in a single-car wreck near Bremen.
Whitney Cotton, 17, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident on County Road 25 after the vehicle she was a passenger in struck a tree. She was ejected from the 2005 Mitsubishi and pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report compiled by Alabama State Troopers.
The Trooper report stated Cotton was not wearing a seatbelt.
The driver of the car, Anna Hughes, 17, was transported to a Huntsville hospital with serious injuries. She was wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.
Troopers reported the wreck occurred at a curve in the road and the vehicle left the road and struck a tree at 10:45 p.m. The area is about five miles west of Bremen.
