A Lubbock woman was killed in a fiery crash near Benjamin early Monday.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said a Ford Fiesta was traveling east on U.S 82. The vehicle apparently struck a hog in the roadway and veered into the westbound lane where it crashed head on into an oncoming 18-wheeler.

The truck then crashed through a fence and caught fire. The Fiesta came to rest on the shoulder. Its driver was identified as Samantha Elizabeth Dimeo.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver was not injured.
