TRAVERSE CITY, MI : A man was ticketed after his motorcycle collided on May, Wednesday, 17th 2017
A man was ticketed after his motorcycle collided with a mid-size SUV that pulled out in front of him.
The motorcyclist, a 28-year-old Traverse City man, was found at fault in the Wednesday afternoon crash after witnesses told a Grand Traverse County sheriff's deputy he had been driving recklessly, said sheriff's Lt. Chris Barsheff.
"Witnesses said he was weaving in and out of cars, traveling at what they thought was excessive speed," he said. "The driver who pulled out of Lucky Jack's had sufficient enough time had the (motorcycle) driver not been driving in the manner that they were."
The motorcyclist was ticketed for violation of the basic speed law, a citation typically issued in the winter which states drivers should have control of their vehicle at all times, Barsheff said.
The motorcyclist was taken to Munson Medical Center for treatment of broken bones but non-life threatening injuries, he said.
