A 19-year-old woman was seriously injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 290 in Shrewsbury on Tuesday, authorities said.
The woman, who was driving a 2006 Nissan Murano, lost control of her car around 4:30 a.m. and was struck by the tractor-trailer in the westbound lane of I-290, Massachusetts State Police told MassLive.She was taken to UMass Memorial Medical Center with serious injuries. Authorities did not have information on any other injured parties, state police said.
All three lanes on the highway near exit 22 were impacted, according to officials.
Traffic on I-290 westbound was detoured off the highway at exit 22. Drivers have been urged by state police to go on an alternative route.
