Phoenix, AZ : Two people injured after a chain-reaction crash on Interstate 10 and Elliot Road early Thursday morning, Oct 1, 2015
A chain-reaction crash that started with a tired driver sent two people to the hospital early Thursday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Officials said a female driver hit a median wall at Interstate 10 and Elliot Road at about 1 a.m. She walked across the freeway to wait for help.
That's when a vehicle slammed into her empty vehicle. The driver and passenger were transported to a hospital with serious injuries.
A truck then crashed into the two wrecked vehicles, but that driver was not hurt.
A DPS spokesman said it appears fatigue was a factor in the crash and impairment is not suspected.
