Baker ,CA : Las Vegas woman, 65, dies in rollover crash near Baker on Wednesday ,June 24th 2015

A 65-year-old Las Vegas woman died in a rollover crash Wednesday evening on Interstate 15 near Baker, Calif., according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department.

Chung Yu Shen was the right-front passenger in a 1999 Ford Explorer headed north on I-15 when the tread of the vehicle's right rear tire separated from the tire's body, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The 69-year-old Las Vegas man driving the SUV lost control near Afton Canyon Road about 5:50 p.m., and the Ford headed into the center median, rolling over multiple times, the highway patrol said.

Shen was pronounced dead on scene, and the driver, who suffered major injuries, was taken to a local hospital by helicopter, according to the highway patrol and the coroner's division of the sheriff's office.

Officials don't believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident, the highway patrol said.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
