Reche Canyon crash kills burro, injures motorcycle rider in California

A burro was killed and a motorcyclist suffered a broken arm in a crash on Monday night.The California Highway Patrol received a call at 8:48 p.m. of a motorcyclist who collided with a burro on Reche Canyon Road near Black Stallion Drive.Paramedics took the rider to an area hospital for treatment of injuries, officers said.The burro, who suffered fatal injuries, was moved to the side of the road. The wrecked bike and the burro remained at the scene Tuesday morning.CHP officers said animal control officers were expected to pick up the animal some time during the day and the rider was allowed to arrange for the bike to be towed at a later time.
