One person died in a single-vehicle crash Thursday in Adams County.
Around 3 p.m. Thursday, the driver of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata was killed after striking a utility pole, according to Pennsylvania State Police at Gettysburg. No information has been provided about the driver because next of kin was not contacted at the time the news release was issued.
The driver was traveling west on Waynesboro Pike and attempted to pass another vehicle in a no passing zone, police said.
The driver lost control of the vehicle and traveled off the road before striking a tree, a mailbox and a utility pole. It flipped over several times and came to rest after striking a second tree, police said.
A seatbelt was used during the crash, but the driver died as a result of injuries sustained during the crash, according to police.
