Marietta, GA : No injuries in a wreck on Marietta Square on Tuesday afternoon, March 21, 2017

The driver of a Kia SUV fell asleep behind the wheel and hit one of the large planters on Marietta Square on Tuesday afternoon and rolled over, according to Marietta police.

Officer Brittany Wallace told the MDJ the SUV was the only vehicle involved in the wreck, which occurred shortly after 4 p.m. Tuesday. No one was injured.

The driver will be given a citation for failure to maintain lane, Wallace said.

Marietta police sent out an alert to drivers to avoid the Square during the afternoon as the wreck led to some road closures.
