Bartlesville, OK : An 18-year-old Collinsville woman is dead following a single vehicle accident on May, Thursday 4th 2017

An 18-year-old Collinsville woman is dead following a single vehicle accident Thursday morning east of Vera.

According to reports from the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:31 a.m., one mile east of Vera on county road EW3900 in Washington County.

At that time a 1995 Honda Civic, driven by Nikki L. Winton of Collinsville, was “westbound on a county road at a high rate of speed” when she “failed to negotiate a curve, departed left side of roadway, struck a tree and came to rest in a creek in approximately 3 to 4 feet of water.”

Winton was pronounced dead at the scene from “massive injuries” by Medical Examiner Mark Kiresner.

Troopers listed the condition of the driver at the time of the accident as “apparently normal” and the cause of the collision as “unsafe speed.”
