Man dies after truck crashes into tree in Elkhart County on Tuesday, 2nd July 2024 07/2/2024

ELKHART COUNTY, Ind. (WNDU) - A 60-year-old man has died from his injuries after police say a truck crashed into a tree on Tuesday night in Elkhart County.

First responders were called just before 7 p.m. to the area of State Road 13 and Old Country Lane just north of Middlebury.

When they arrived, they found a Dodge Ram truck that had crashed into a tree.

The driver, identified as 60-year-old John Berger, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say Berger was the only person inside the truck at the time of the crash.
