Albany,OR : Woman killed in crash between Jefferson and Albany on December, Monday 18th 2017

A woman was killed on Monday afternoon when the Jeep Wrangler she was driving was rear-ended by a full-size Dodge pickup on Kamph Road, said Jefferson Fire District spokeswoman Tammy Robbins.

Both vehicles were headed westbound on the roadway between Jefferson and Albany. The Jeep was stopped and turning left into a driveway, and the crash sent it into a ditch and on its side.

A second woman also was in the Jeep and was taken to a local hospital, Robbins said.

The crash happened at about 2:30 p.m. on Monday. At 4:30 p.m., Kamph Road remained closed in both directions from Scravel Hill Road to Bond Road. The roadway was expected to reopen on Monday night.

The Linn County Sheriff's Office is investigating the crash.
