Monett,MO : Miller man dies in Friday wreck on December, Friday 1st 2017

A Miller man died Friday in a wreck at 1:45 a.m. on Highway TT, 2.5 miles south of Halltown.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Josey Smotherman, 20, of Miller, was driving a 2011 Dodge truck eastbound when his vehicle ran off the roadway, overturned and ejected the driver.

Smotherman was pronounced dead at 2:44 a.m. by Coroner Scott Lakin. Smotherman was not wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.

This is the 103rd fatal wreck of the year for Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, which covers 18 counties in southwest Missouri, including Lawrence and Barry.
