Rock County, WI : Michigan couple critically injured in Rock County OWI crash on Wednesday, December 24, 2014
Two people were critically injured Wednesday evening in an alcohol-related crash in Rock County.
The crash occurred shortly before 6 p.m. at Highway 11 and S. Footville Rd.
According to a sheriff's report, James Savoie, 64, and Helen Savoie, 63, of Caro, Mich., suffered life-threatening injuries when their car, heading west on Highway 11, was hit by a Dodge Dakota whose driver was attempting to turn left onto Footville.
The 69-year-old driver of the Dodge Dakota had a blood alcohol level of 0.13. He was not injured, but was cited for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, possessing of an open intoxicant and failure to yield.
Two passengers in the Savoie car escaped injury.
