OVERLAND PARK, KS : Crash on westbound I-435 at Antioch Road causes morning commute delays on Sunday, 11th August 2024

Commuters who take westbound I-435 likely experienced delays Monday morning after a crash contributed to rush-hour slowdowns.

According to the Kansas City Scout cameras, there was a significant delay on I-435 at Antioch Road for around two hours. At its worst, the backup stretched more than five miles down the interstate, past State Line Road.

The delay was reportedly caused by a two-vehicle crash that happened around 6:09 a.m. Traffic was reduced to one lane as crews worked to clear the scene.

The crash was cleared by 7:20 a.m., but traffic remained delayed for the better part of the morning rush hour.
