Avondale ,AZ : Both drivers minorly injured and no students injured in School bus head - on Crash near 122nd Avenue on Tuesday Morning , March 24th 2015

The driver of a car had to be cut from a vehicle after a head-on crash with a school bus carrying high school students in Avondale on Tuesday morning.

None of the 22 children on board the bus were injured, though the bus driver reported minor injuries but was not hospitalized, Avondale police said.

The crash happened before 8 a.m. near 122nd Avenue and McDowell Road.

The car's driver was taken to a West Valley trauma center, police said. The victim's condition was not available.

A witness told CBS 5 News that he heard the crash and held the trapped victim's hand until help arrived.

Police said it appeared the car's driver crossed the center line into the path of the bus.
