Gulfport, MS : Federal agent killed in Miami hit-and-run crash on Friday, January 15, 2016

A federal agent originally from Gulfport has died in a hit-and-run in Miami, Fla. Officials with the Department of Homeland Security tell us Scott McGuire was critically injured in the Jan. 15 accident and died later as a result of his injuries.

According to WPLG in Miami, McGuire was one of two federal agents struck by the vehicle in Miami Beach. One person has reportedly been arrested in the case.

Homeland Security says there was an honor guard processional for McGuire on Jan. 27 as his body left the medical examiner's office.

Funeral arrangements are still being made.
