Redding, CA : Court Street reopened after major injury crash on Monday morning, December 22, 2014

Authorities say a pedestrian suffered head and leg injuries after she walked across Court Street and was hit by a truck this morning. Redding police officers closed the roadway between Benton Drive and 10th Street after a pedestrian was hit in the area just before 11 a.m. Mary Ellen Evans, 38, of Redding, walked into the roadway near Riverside Drive, police said. They said she walked into the path of a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven southbound by Amber Michelle Day, 34, of Redding. The truck hit Evans, who suffered a broken leg and head injuries, officers said. A medic en route to Mercy Medical Center said the car was traveling about 30 mph, and she sustained head injuries and road rashes.
