NEW MADRID COUNTY, MO : Carbondale woman seriously injured in New Madrid County crash on Monday, 8th July 2024

A Carbondale woman was seriously injured in a crash on Interstate 55 in New Madrid County on Monday morning, July 8.

The crash happened at 7 a.m. on I-55 northbound at the 33.4-mile marker.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 65-year-old Brenda D. Cox was driving north when her SUV went off the roadway, hit a cable barrier and flipped into a field.

Cox was rushed to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious injuries.
