US 29 crash kills Pensacola woman
A Thursday night crash in Cantonment killed a Pensacola woman, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.At about 10:50 p.m., Melvin Pryear, 48, and Albertina McCarty, 54, were in a Chrysler Sebring attempting to make a left turn from the southbound lane of U.S. 29 to Muscogee Road, an FHP news release said.Standford Britts, 60, of Ohio was driving northbound when the Sebring turned into his path, the release said. Britts’ vehicle struck the right side of the Sebring.McCarty, who was not wearing a seat belt, was killed, FHP said. Pryear suffered serious injuries. Britts was uninjured.
