Three Chanute residents were injured in a three-vehicle accident south of Erie Thursday morning.
Norverto Pastor, 23, Chanute, was transported to Freeman Hospital in Missouri after the accident at 8:40 am Thursday on US-59 in Neosho County, the Kansas Highway Patrol reported.
Ray Bonilla, 82, Chanute, and Rhonda Dickerson, 53, Chanute, also were transported to Neosho Memorial Regional Medical Center.
Pastor was reportedly driving a 2004 Kia on US-59 and accelerated, striking the rear of a 2006 Ford pickup driven by Kenneth Crager, 62, St. Paul. Pastor’s car spun around in the southbound lane and was struck by a 1997 Dodge pickup driven by Bonilla, with Dickerson as a passenger. Crager was not injured.
Bonilla, Dickerson and Pastor were not using safety restraints.
