Augusta, GA : Fatal crash on Doug Barnard Parkway leaves one dead on Doug Barnard Parkway at Lock and Dam Road on Tuesday, 30th October 2018

The Richmond County Coroner’s Office is investigating a fatal accident that left one person dead.

Coroner Mark Bowen said the accident occurred on Doug Barnard Parkway at Lock and Dam Road around 2:52 p.m. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 p.m.

Bowen said a Buick Century was traveling southbound on Doug Barnard Parkway and attempted to turn left onto Lock and Dam Road. When the Buick turned left, it was struck by a northbound Toyota Corolla. The Buick overturned during impact, with a female in the Buick being killed, Bowen said.
